Rabbi Laura Geller

Senior Rabbi, Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills

Rabbi Laura Geller was one of the first women to be selected to lead a major metropolitan synagogue. Twice named one of Newsweek’s 50 Most Influential Rabbis in America and featured in the PBS documentary “Jewish Americans,”  she is the author of numerous articles in books, and  on line publications and was on the editorial board of The Torah: A Women’s Commentary.  She is a Fellow of the Corporation of Brown University from where she graduated in 1971. Ordained by Hebrew Union College in 1976, she is the third woman in the Reform Movement to become a rabbi.  Her most recent project is “NextStage: The Boomer and Beyond Initiative” which is exploring how Jewish tradition and new forms of Jewish community can enrich and reengage baby boomers and help them discover how to get good at getting older and giving back.
