Union Square

Union Square is one of San Francisco’s most popular tourist and local destinations. Established in 1850, Union Square was named in honor of the Union supporters at the start of the Civil War. The square was completely renovated in 2002 to feature a welcoming promenade for special events, a seasonal ice skating rink, and outdoor seating for enjoying the urban landscape.
