The Purpose Prize

The Purpose Prize

The Purpose Prize®, now completing its tenth year, is the nation’s only large-scale investment in people over 60 who are combining their passion and experience for social good. The Prize was first created in 2006 by Encore.org, with funding from the John Templeton Foundation and The Atlantic Philanthropies to showcase the value of experience and disprove notions that innovation is the sole province of the young. It celebrates social innovators with the passion to make change and the experience to know how to do it.

Encore2016 conference registration includes a special Purpose Prize evening event to celebrate 10 years of the Prize and to honor the 2015 winners – six people over 60 who are changing the world through their encores. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday evening, February 10, at SFJazz Center, 201 Franklin Street, San Francisco, CA 94102.

Transportation will be provided between the conference hotel and this event. Buses will depart the hotel starting at 5:45 pm with doors opening at 6:15 pm for the 6:30-8:00 pm ceremony. It will be followed by a dinner reception at SFJazz Center.
